Bay Area K-pop fans, it’s been a huge week for major announcements and updates!
1. BIGBANG Announces 20th Anniversary World Tour During Coachella Performance
While performing at Coachella 2026 (Outdoor Theatre stage on April 12 and 19), the legends BIGBANG (G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung) shocked the crowd by officially announcing their 20th anniversary world tour titled BIGSHOW: REBORN.
The tour is expected to kick off in August 2026 and will hit Asia, Europe, and North America. G-Dragon delivered the news toward the end of their set, calling it a celebration of 20 years together. Fans are already calling this one of the most emotional and historic moments of Coachella weekend.
2. aespa Confirms Oakland Arena Date for 2026-27 World Tour
aespa just dropped the full dates for their 2026-27 LIVE TOUR [SYNK : aeXIS LINE] and the Bay Area is locked in!
Date: Tuesday, October 6, 2026
Venue: Oakland Arena, Oakland, CA
This is part of their massive new tour following the success of previous SYNK tours. Expect futuristic production, new tracks, and all the “æ” energy we love. Full North American dates include Los Angeles (Oct 3), Seattle (Oct 9), and more — ticket presale and onsale info coming soon via Weverse and Ticketmaster.
3. (G)I-DLE Cancels Entire North American Leg of “Syncopation” World Tour
In sad news for NEVERLAND, Cube Entertainment officially confirmed on April 20 that the entire North American leg of (G)I-DLE’s 2026 WORLD TOUR [Syncopation] has been cancelled.
The 10-city run (including the previously announced Oakland Arena stop on August 21) was scrapped due to “reorganizing global activities, local schedules, and various conditions.” The agency stated they want to return to North America later with “more complete performances and diverse activities.”
Full refunds are being processed automatically through Ticketmaster/original purchase points. The group will continue with their Asian and European dates as planned.
A tough pill for fans who had already bought tickets, but Cube emphasized they’re focusing on delivering the best possible experience when they do return.
